Research has shown that following Full First Aid at Work and Emergency First Aid training, the practical skills of first-aiders can deteriorate.  The HSE strongly recommends that first-aiders undertake annual refresher training during any three-year FFAW/EFAW certification period.  Although not mandatory, this course will help qualified first-aiders maintain their basic skills and keep up to date with any changes to first aid procedures.

Overview

This short, three hour course covers:

• Health & safety regulations
• Being a first aider
• Assessment of the first aid situation
• Summoning the emergency services
• CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resusciation)
• Top to toe survey
• Recovery position
• Unconscious casualty
• Wounds and bleeding
• First aid box content

 Assessment

Continuous assessment by the trainer throughout the course.

Additional Information
