Refresher First Aid
Validated by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), this programme is required for any candidate who has an existing First Aid at Work Certificate that is due to expire.
Overview
This course will cover:
- Health & safety regulations
- Being a first aider
- Assessment of the first aid situation
- Summoning the emergency services
- CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation )
- Top to toe survey
- Recovery position
- Respiratory disorders
- Unconsciousness casualty
- The circulatory system
- Wounds and bleeding
- Bone joint and muscle injuries
- Use of slings
- Burns and scalds
- Poisoning
- Effects of extreme heat and cold
- Handling and transporting casualties
- Miscellaneous conditions
- First aid box content.
Assessment
Assessment is be completing 3 practical tests/assessments.
Additional Information
The course will be delivered over two days. Candidates must have a current First Aid at Work Certificate and will be required to bring the original of their certificate to the first day of the course they are booked to attend.
