Full First Aid at Work Certificate
Validated by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), this programme is essential for all nominated first aiders at work and is designed to equip learners with the knowledge to safely treat people who are injured or taken ill.
Overiew
This course will cover:
- Health & safety regulations
- Being a first aider
- Assessment of the first aid situation
- Summoning the emergency services
- CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation )
- Top to toe survey
- Recovery position
- Respiratory disorders
- Unconsciousness casualty
- The circulatory system
- Wounds and bleeding
- Bone, joint and muscle injuries
- Use of slings
- Burns and scalds
- Poisoning
- Effects of extreme heat and cold
- Handling and transporting casualties
- Miscellaneous conditions
- First aid box content.
Please note that from 1st October 2009 the HSE ruling on the First Aid at Work Courses changes and this course will be reduced to three days instead of the current four days.
Assessment
Assessment is a multiple-choice exam paper and 3 practical tests/assessments.
